Live your healthiest life

I know its only July but I am already thinking about the new year and what is to come. With 5 more months of the year, it forces me to evaluate what I have done this year to create a better version of myself. These are things I realized in my life, little changes that make a big difference that I needed to make in order to live my healthiest life.

Drink more water!

This is sort of no brainer for most of us. We know we need to drink more water but the thought of it is sometimes daunting. I have been carrying around a water bottle that hold 32 ounces and my goal is to fill it up twice a day. Sometimes I reach that goal, sometimes I don’t but I take it day by day. When I drink more water, I’ve noticed that I eat less and feel fuller throughout the day.

Eat more vegetables!

Ive always thought I was a pretty healthy eater and I eat a good mixture of fruits, vegetables, protein and carbs but the more I paid attention to my diet, the more I realized that I eat a lot of carbs and protein but not enough vegetables. Just this small change has made a huge difference as well. When I do eat more vegetables, I feel fuller and more satisfied throughout the day as well.

Become more active!

This is something that we all know we should be doing but actually finding the time to exercise/go for a walk or workout is sometimes more of a fantasy than a reality in our busy lives. By the time I get home from work, it is time to make dinner, then get ready for bed and do it all again the next day. I know myself and I know that if my goal is too large, I won’t complete it. (I used to have a goal of working out for 1 hour a day but ended up never working out) I started working out for 5 full minutes a day for 4 days a week, not much right. I didn’t feel like I was doing much or making any progress but I had to keep telling myself, working out for 5 minutes a day is better than not working out at all. The more I worked out, the more I created the habit of working out, I increased my workouts by 5 minutes every 2 weeks and now I am working out for 20 minutes at a time.

Find something you enjoy and do it!

One day someone asked me what I like to do for fun and I couldn’t come up with an answer I was a new mom at the time and all I did was take care of my baby. I didn’t go out and have fun, go out with friends and spend time doing the things that I enjoyed. After that day, it really made me think and put into a different perspective my life and what is important to me. The more I thought about my life the more I realized how off balance it was and that is something that I constantly ask myself now. How is my balance? Am I finding time for the important things in my life. I can say now that some of my hobbies are being outside, exploring and doing things I’ve never done. I like rock climbing, snow and water skiing, wakeboarding, camping, hiking and walking.

You can change your life!

Life is all about the little choices we make daily. The little habits that seem insignificant are important. Your life is yours to create. Today is the day to start working towards the live you’ve always wanted. It starts with one step in the right direction. The first step is always the hardest but when you get the momentum, it helps propel you forward. Don’t wait to change your life, don’t wait for a new year, a new job, a new opportunity or a new relationship. You are capable! You can do it! What are you going to do today to make a better tomorrow for yourself?

Getting Started!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my site! I really believe that this will help you live a life that you’ve always dreamed about. Life is all about the little things in our life that we choose to do on a daily basis that really creates changes. Working out 5 minutes a day 5 times a week is a great start to build a habit.

My Goal

I have always been passionate about helping people. I truly want to help others live to their fullest potential. I know this is a big statement because many times people say they want something different but are not ready to take the steps to make that a reality. Trust me, I’ve been one of those people as well. Its much easier to want something than to actually do it but you are the only person that can change your life so why wait. Life is so great, there is so much we can accomplish and do when we really focus on what it is we want!

My WHY!

I want to help people because it is my passion. I love learning about people, hearing their stories, their experiences. It was always my dream to become a psychologist/counselor. Sometimes we need someone to talk to in order to process our life and why things panned out the way they did, someone to give us a new perspective and once we have that we are unstoppable. Life is too short to not live to your fullest potential!

My Goal

The purpose of my site is to help others live a meaningful(we all have different definitions) life. I want you to be able to look back a year from now and really see a difference in your quality, happiness and relationships in your life.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Michelle 🙂
